This article is part of a customer case study series by our parent company in Japan, Beyond Co., Ltd., a leading multi-cloud solutions and management expert, featuring real customer experiences and insights. The following is a summary of a collaboration with the customer, Mynet Inc., a leading operator in the mobile gaming industry.
Today, thanks to Beyond GTA Inc., our Toronto-based North American subsidiary, this same Japanese service philosophy—what we call “Beyond-ism”—is now fully available to companies on a global scale.
What sets “Beyond-ism” apart from other cloud infrastructure and operations providers in North America is this: we do not just deliver a service—we stand by our customers through thick and thin. Rooted in the Japanese customer-first culture, our people work with precision, pride, and care, not just for a paycheck. By leveraging the time difference between EST and Japan, our global team is always watching and always ready.
Beyond Co., Ltd. (in Japan) Case Study
Customer Overview:
Mynet Inc. (TSE:3928) is a distinguished and publicly listed company in Japan, recognized as a leader in the mobile gaming industry. Since its establishment on July 1, 2006, and with its headquarters in Tokyo, Mynet has specialized in acquiring and managing existing game titles from third-party publishers. Through its unique and forward-thinking “game service business” model, the company is committed to sustaining and enhancing the value of each title throughout its entire lifecycle. This includes ongoing infrastructure support, development, and customer service to ensure long-term success. Given the complexity of operating multiple live titles, Mynet relies on robust, scalable infrastructure to maintain the high standards and reliability that define its operations.

Building a Trusted Cloud Migration Partnership: Mynet & Beyond
Since 2018, Mynet Inc. and Beyond Co., Ltd. have partnered closely on game server operations, cloud migrations, and infrastructure support. Mynet Inc., known for its game service model that revitalizes acquired game titles, has relied on Beyond Co., Ltd. to ensure seamless backend transitions and scalable infrastructure.
We sat down—virtually—with engineers from Beyond Co., Ltd. in Osaka and their client, Mynet Inc., based in Tokyo, to discuss how their collaboration evolved and what makes it work.

Why Mynet Chose Beyond
Mr. Aizawa, Mynet's Engineering Group member, recalls the early days:
"When we started exploring cloud migration, we needed a partner who understood our unique model—acquiring and operating existing games for the long term. Beyond was the first to really get it. Their proposal hit exactly what we needed, and it showed they truly listened."
That proposal came from Mr. Nakauchi, Beyond’s sales lead, who was introduced through a mutual cloud vendor.
How the Migration Process Works
Mynet typically evaluates a game’s infrastructure before acquisition. After gaining access to the systems, they assess feasibility and cost of migration, then consult Beyond to begin planning.
"Once we finalize the acquisition," Mr. Aizawa, Mynet engineer explains, "we involve Beyond early in the migration timeline to ensure a smooth handoff and realistic scheduling."
Impact of the Partnership
According to Mynet, partnering with Beyond has led to:
Reduced operational stress on in-house engineers
Faster incident response, especially after hours
Upskilling of Mynet’s team through hands-on collaboration
Improved trust and transparency, enabling both teams to speak openly about technical challenges
Mr. Igari, another Mynet engineer, shares:
"Personally, since I started working with you, I feel like my infrastructure skills have really grown. Before that, I’d only built a simple internal system and really just knew the basics—things like EC2, S3, and CloudFront. But through the migration projects we did together, I learned a ton about infrastructure from the Beyond team."
Mr. Igari continues:
"One thing that really stuck with me was moving between cloud environments. I remember Mr. Okazaki from Beyond showing me how to transfer database dump files and files stored on servers. Thanks to that, I was able to build a test environment by myself during a later migration. That kind of hands-on learning has been super helpful—I still refer back to it. And I also really appreciated learning how to set up swap. Thanks again for that!"
Culture & Communication: Key to Success
What stands out in this collaboration is the 'human' connection.
"We chat informally, we joke, we use emojis—and that openness creates a strong, collaborative environment,” says Mr. Horikoshi, Mynet’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO). “But more importantly, we can admit what we don’t know and solve problems together."
Beyond’s engineers, Mr. Okazaki and Mr. Kanbara, agree.
Mr. Horikoshi, Mynet's CTO continues:
"We never feel like a vendor. It’s a true partnership—we’re solving things side-by-side, learning together, and improving the systems that support Mynet’s games."

Looking Ahead
Both companies want to keep strengthening the relationship, while also making it more resilient.
"We want to move away from reliance on specific individuals,” Mr. Horikoshi notes, “and build a more scalable, shared knowledge base across teams."

Beyond’s team echoed that vision, emphasizing the mutual respect and ongoing technical growth they gain from working with Mynet.
Final Thoughts
The Mynet-Beyond partnership is a model for cloud migration done right: deep collaboration, transparency, and shared success.
Whether you're migrating legacy systems or scaling your cloud infrastructure, finding a partner who truly understands your business—and works as an extension of your team—can make all the difference.
